In Bruges

As a result of multiple recommendations from others. Megan and I headed to Bruges in Belgium. We liked it so much we stayed even longer than we had planned to. It is so far the most authentic city I have seen on my trip in Europe. It appears untouched by the modernization and commercialism of the current era. This is obviously not sure for the entire city but the heart of the city is sooo charming. We loved walking down the cobbled streets with beautiful buildings on either side.

I may not have seen the Movie In Bruges but now I know many of the places when specific scenes were filmed. Megan and I went on a In Bruges tour,  and even without the movie references it was a fantastic city to tour around. The movie is on my list when I get home.

Check out some of the sights along the way in Bruges:

Oldest Bridge in the city

Could this be any more picturesque

Sisterly love!!!!

City Centre

Basilica of the Holy blood- there is said to be blood from Jesus there but we did not check it out.
Not really sure about this fact?

So detailed!!!

I so look like a traveller! Either way it was beautiful.

Old building foundation now below a hotel in Bruges

Megan and I had an awesome time in Bruges. I would highly recommend both the Flemish food and beer. We did a great job enjoying both. The beer in Belgium is incredible. We did a very good job tasting as many different kinds as we could but I think we were a little out numbered since their are 1200 different types of beer brewed in Belgium. You also can't go wrong with the Belgian chocolate and waffles. We also had a great stew that was made with beer. Generally the food was awesome in Belgium.

Chocolate shops around every corner!

There were chocolate shops everywhere but we passed this novelty one many times.

Beer Tasting

13% beer you can only get at this bar.  It was awesome!

They have a limit of 3 beers per person. I can see why it is pretty strong!

Megan and I headed out on a pub crawl but were too cheap to pay so we just followed them.
Either way it was a great night!!! Not sure we remember the entire night?

Friends made along the way

I was super pumped about something... who knows what?

Meagn you look confused... did you lose your beer?

All smiles!

Fantastic night "In Bruges"!!!!
